How to maintain a cast iron Dutch pott

1.To use wooden or silicon spoons in the pot ,because iron can cause scratches.

2. After cooking, waiting for the pot to cool naturally and then cleaning with sponge or soft cloth. Do not use steel ball.

3.To Use kitchen paper or dish cloth to remove excess oil and food particles. This is the only cleaning you need to do before using it again.

4, If you wash it with water, you need to use a dry cloth to wipe the water stains, and put the pot on the stove to dry.

5, Leave some oil coating on the inside and outside of the pot after each use. A dry pot without an oil layer is not good. Saturated fats are recommended because they are more stable at room temperature and less prone to spoilage (oxidation). If you use a cast iron pot every day, it doesn’t matter which oil you use. If not used for a long time, use saturated fats such as coconut oil, lard or butter.

6.Cast iron pots tend to rust easily, so don’t put them in the dishwasher. Do not let the water in the pot for more than 10-15 minutes, and then remove the residue.
