How to use a newly purchased cast iron pan

First, clean the cast iron pot. It is best to wash the new pot twice. Put the cleaned cast iron pot on the stove and dry it on a small fire for about a minute. After the cast iron pan is dry, pour 50ml of vegetable oil or animal oil. The effect of animal oil is better than that of vegetable oil. Use a clean wooden shovel or a dishwashing brush to spread the oil around the cast iron pan. Spread evenly around the bottom of the pot and cook slowly over low heat. Allow the bottom of the pan to fully absorb the grease. This process takes about 10 minutes. Then turn off the heat and wait for the oil to cool slowly. Do not rewash directly with cold water at this time, because the oil temperature is very high at this time, and rinsing with cold water will destroy the grease layer that has been formed in the cast iron pan. After the oil is cooled, pour out the remaining grease. The warm water wash is repeated several times. Then use kitchen paper or a clean dish towel to dry the bottom of the pot and surrounding water. Dry it again on low heat so you can use it with peace of mind.
